Anyone know what this is? I thought I’d was Spruce but it’s extremely heavy.

 

Just to square it off at 12” and cut it in half it burned through two fresh blades.

 

I’ve given up on it now.

Douglas Fir? I've always found that very hard on the blades.

Sure looks like douglas but must be very dry if its burning through blades or your sharpening is not up to it. 🙄

Think you might’ve heard me grumble about that too Andy, I’m sure someone on here explained the internal structure of the cells or something. Either way it does hammer the blades.
