There is a market for these.

how long will it take for a proficient chainsaw operator to safely process 20 x 3.2m softwood poles with average 25cm diameter.?

3 cuts per pole to make 4 blanks, then 3 vertical cuts through the middle to 10 cm of base.

It’s not a speed challenge, I’m figuring out production rates for summer firewood sales opportunities

Why not 4 cuts on a saw bench . Much quicker .

You ideally need a wider cut than a saw bench to let enough air in, to make it easy to light. Chainsaw happens to be wide enough, found 3/8 worked a bit better than .325 in the first ones I made.

He will also disappear under a pile of noodles so you need to allow time for getting rid of waste every few.

Now that’s just weird. Made one this week out of a dry piece of conifer for the kids to see how it worked. We lit it on the 1st. Burnt well and being conifer it didn’t last too long. It was the first one I’ve ever made and if I make some more I want to try one made from silver birch.
