Hi I'm after some advice, is this oak tree dieing ? If so will it be dangerous any time soon? This was recently done in the last week.

It could survive if enough of that brown bark cambium  is able to feed the root. The sapwood is still intact so  the tree will leaf up but the tree ultimately depends on the leaves being able to send sustenance to the root .

There have been success stories of bark grafts from other parts of the tree being used to bridge the gap but I have never witnessed or been involved.

this probably is more for small trees but...

Ring barking or girdling can cause dieback or death of a tree. Damage may result from careless use of machinery close to...

The damage was done by myself so I'm the c##t 🤣

My reasons are I own the land and tree,, the oak has become that big it needs to be taken down, it's causing damage to my garages and surrounding houses and cars. No matter if I cut back the branches it will be come un stable words of 3 tree sergeons....so I went to have it removed but the local council have put an emergency pto on the tree 😒 causing me drastic action this was done before the order was in place.

Well I loved the house the local authority used to own the tree and land beside my house, ive recently purchased the land and tree....the local authority is at fault for letting this oak grow to 60ft. It's 4ft away from my garage a ft away from a path then narrow road then over grows drive ways and all the neighbours hate it due to the damage its causing so we have all Agreeed to cut it back or cut it down
