Echo cs362tes no turn on low rev

So recently it’s been my birthday and my father who is in the trade and only does Stihl saws got me my first own Echo top handle for my private use. After starting it we quickly noticed that when we rev the saw slowly it won’t turn the chain if that makes sense. It’s like it’s a bit delayed having to go full throttle and it slowly starts building up. The saw is brand new and the chain, bar and tick over seem to be alright. Just wondering if anyone has had any similar experience. Thank you for any help.

Sorry but struggling to make sense of what the problem is. What do you mean by rev it slowly, as in when the revs are low? Or if you build up the revs slowly? Centrifugal clutches work by the rotational force eventually overcoming the spring tension and gripping the sprocket drum, so you might have a tight spot somewhere either in the clutch, brake band, bar or chain that's taking a bit more grunt to get moving. Sure you've assembled it all correctly?

But as above comment if you're using a top handle I'd hope you'd have the knowledge to suss that out pretty quickly, you are aware they're only for pros and shouldn't be used on the ground?

Apologies if you're a climber of many years experience 😂

Hi, thanks for the feedback. Yes I am a qualified climber but experience wise I have only been doing the 3 years. With the revs I mean when I press the throttle i don’t go full throttle to max revs. Maybe it is as you mentioned a tight spot in the clutch as it’s brand new though I haven’t discovered this issue on any other new saws we have had so far. To be honest the saw only needed the bar fitting so it’s Factory prepped. I’ll have a deeper look into it and might strip it.

From what I can make out, you are saying it is bogging down? You pull the throttle and the saw sits there not picking up revs as it should or spinning the chain?
If it is a new Echo.....why not take it back to the dealer for return or a warranty repair?

Agree with this approach. If you have limited experience with the spanner’s it’s may be something very simple that a 2 stroke mechanic will see straight away and sort in 5 minutes.
Just take it back and save the hassle.
