Hey Eggy.

It’s 110v. Need to swap out the US household plug for a U.K. 110v transformer plug.

Got ya, it would run on the American 120v mains domestic supply, or here through a transformer. Looks a lot of saw. I'm going to be rude, how much was it including import? Not that I want or need one I'm just nosey.

But wrong hertz is it soft start?

I watched a few YouTube vids from
Folk importing them to the U.K. and running them on a transformer. Seems to work? I based all my knowledge on this. [emoji3]

I don’t think it’s soft start no. It does not pick up much speed at the best of times as far as I can see from the videos.

Nothings rude with me. [emoji16]

Hopefully it runs on the 110v transformer and has no detrimental effects.

I paid $500 for the saw and about $250 shipping and tax. I think it’s £1500 here new?

You've got a crackin setup there.....I've been using a 6m alloy extrusion 2x4" as a straight edge for a while but even with this saw the motor's only about 1/2" off the deck at max cut so going to have to do something....might try to adapt some of this guy's ideas, cheers.

Good saving, I had it at over a grand here but not up at £1500.

I'm no sparky and it's along time since I used to strip and rebuild pump motors, but...

Iirc, if the motor has brushes it's a universal motor and will be fine on a UK transformer. My first thought was it might not run at full tilt or get hot but I think that is wrong, (see, there doesn't need anyone else involved to have a row😀).

Speed isn't frequency related.

Not a clue. :D Its an oldr design. Makita was the only 16" offering for years I think? The one I bought was built in 07.
