No, Nomads, they skidded on to a hard standing but couldn't lift it at 1 metre so split it and they could, just. Still, I got about 30 m3 of cut boards out of it.

Mainly milling and some extraction as a client, haven't done any work for him. He's sold the treework business to an arb consultant (based in nottingham) so a reduced team are still around in the stripey vans. He has gone to full time milling.

Hello peeps

I am looking into buying a new big saw in the stihl 084 area, but notice that the husky equivilant is about 2 hundred quid cheaper, I think its called the 3120XP. Does anyone have any thoughts out there???

i havent had any dealings with 084 but the 3120xp u get alot of vibration with 36inch bar we use them with my local council . i think the 395xp far better better balance no vibration , i got 28inch bar n mine it does the job u dont get so fatiged

I`ve use to use 3120, good saw. Use 066 now ,use the husky for milling. 066 is big enough for most jobs going in from both sides, the tree that is lol:drunk:

i run a 660! air filter dosnt work and it does'nt seem to oil all that well even though ive turned oil pump up the saw only 12 mounths old and hardly done any work. anyone got any suggestions?

 

Run a film of grease around the inside of your air cleaner cover,it will pick up the fine dust before it hits your filter.Check it and wipe off the grime and recoat as needed.We are only talking about a film of Grease,not a layer like peanut butter on Toast!

spoke to stihl rep, and apperently its a common fault that they are aware of. the have told me that they do another filter as an aftermarket option which should stop it. sounds iffi to me but the next time in at the dealers ill ask:hmmmm2:
