No.
It’s not a burr I’d bother with.
Too small and the burring is not curly.
At 3’ it would be worth it.

Was thinking it was a bit steep. Offered Β£50 initially but was turned down.

Thanks Saul.

What a shame. Big big ball though! Surely it was worth milling anyway?Β

I was so disappointed at the plane boring grain inside and didnt have much spare time, I just cut it up into manageable lumps and gave it my brother for fire wood.

Yeah, it happens.
That’s why I don’t over pay for burrs.

Got a chance to buy a Wytch Elm Burr. Bur itself is 600mm x 600mm x 500mm not including the rest of the log. Bone dry supposedly.

Β

Can’t get it less than Β£100.

Β

Worth it?

It's an interesting shape, but I don't think it is a proper burr.Β  It all depends what you plan to do with it but I would say Β£50 was a very generous offer.

No, most likely not. But its supposedly Bone dry, so was an attraction in that regard. The seller has a Mill so I'd assume knows a bit about wood. Id take a drive over and throw it in the back of the Jeep for Β£50 and a nice drive over the hills and maybe make a new contact. But I'll not bother for Β£100.Β

If , ( andΒ  that's an unknown I know ) its only fire wood you could get a lot more fire wood for Β£50 !
