What would be the best Kindling wood for my system ,we start with 12" rounds split them  down then through the machine

proberbly some soft wood?then just need to get my hands on some,we have been useing some straght Ash but the nets are very heavy

although the wood is dry

We thought about using ash but as you say it’s heavy also I suspect it may be too slow burning for kindling . With the demand for bio mass and the price of kindling so low it’s almost impossible to produce it unless you get the wood free or £25 a tonne max

We used ash last year, customers loved it, just set the machine so it splits like pencils, using doug fir this year, have used poplar also, never had any issues [emoji106]

Straight grained, seasoned leylandii, light as a feather

Fantastic stuff and can usually light it using a match and no paper/firelighters.

Getting a supply might not be so easy.

I use a mixture of Scots pine and sycamore, always find that mixing the species is best as on e will flare up and the other a more moderate burn which gets the big bits going. 
Never used leylandii as kindling just as logs but they burn lovely so imagine it makes good kindling.

I am going to give it a go . I have 30 tonnes of ash on order and we know ash splits nicely . We have pop so might do a mix
