4K is a bit steep, but remember they have to guarantee the work

Maybe they don’t want the work, we all quote high sometimes on stuff we don’t care if we get or not.

Get another quote, or ideally order the engine yourself, and pay a company or a competent person to fit it, I think even I’d be confident of swapping out a stationary engine like that.

Is it worth doing? Is the rest of the machine tight? Bushes, bearings hydraulics etc.
Do you have spare capacity finance wise for a new machine? If you’ve plenty of grinding maybe grab that 1.5k someone offered you and slap it down on a brand new machine.

Decisions only you can make.

Cheers..I think I will look at another quote - I really haven't got the time to play around with it myself, but know I'll likely get peanuts (1550 [emoji23]) if sold as is.

I do have another, so this will either be sold or hired out when engine replaced..

How much would you consider taking for it as-is?

??‍♂️??‍♂️??‍♂️maybe i should stick it up on the bay for bids..but as before if its gonna be peanuts then put a couple of grand into it and at least its worth something

Yeah, if you haven’t got a figure in mind that you’d let it go for then eBay will theoretically find its actual value. You’ll either end up happy or disappointed (your morals will ultimately determine if you end up disappointed though!).
