Whats with the longbar? I have felled massive trees but not yet needed a bar that length? Poor felling tec? Bar neednt be longer than half diameter of stem with proper tec. Explain the reason for it please.

 

It's not always a case of what you need, it's about what's the best tool for the job. You could cut that tree down with a penknife over the course of a couple of years if you wanted to, but no one would, so why p*ss around with a smaller saw if you've got that bloody great thing to hand?
