By the sounds of it, it's improper care and not cleaning it, allowing the spring to become stiff

I had it one mine after a particularly grotty week.

 

I messaged Kevin Bingham and he said use some light oil and it was good as new.

 

NB.  It might not be the same problem.

Just an update to say its now on sale over here for £250 plus VAT. 

 

Very tempted to get it but think I'm going to stick with the bulldog bone with I have to say is a brilliant bit of kit.

My main climber Danny Mac was interested, but now he’s discovered the joy of a good hitch combined with the Petzl Chicane he probably won’t bother.
