I have some new 12mm polysteel rope which refuses to coil nicely.

Can anything be done to take the set out of the rope, e.g. allow to weather, stretch it out and leave it under tension, wash with fabric softener etc?

If its the polysteel I know, it wont th?id=OPE.KEB1xM6QGeXafw300C300&pid=21.1coil nicely, its main use being for trawler fishing boats. Unless yours in an alternative polysteel.

It is a sod when new but once it gets some good use it coils very well, got a 50m length of 25mm i use as pull rope and winching out of ponds, coil it on floor but it took some doing when new even my old boss could not manage it when it was new.

It comes in either hard or soft lay I seem to remember- softer is much easier to manage. Great for working on rivers as it floats.
I still use it for natural crotch rigging on big trees if needed & bin it when it’s melted

Never used it but doesn't sound great fr tree works ? Cheap solid pull rope if you are winching over a lot dunno how Loler would view it ? K

If it has all the prerequisite information with it & is labelled correctly why would there be an issue with LOLER inspecting it? Is there some hidden agenda I am unaware of that fails 3 strand automatically because it is not a fancy double braid? Please explain.
