MS260 PISTON RINGS MISSING

Hi

Just picked up a second hand ms260 that over all looks in good condition for its age. Has compression and starts.

Got it home, took the muffler off to check the piston which look nice and smooth and well lubricated.

However I did notice both of the piston rings are missing!!

Is this a massive issue?

Should they be on?

How do I know what size to get?

Thanks in advance.

Has anyone tried running a ms260 with just one ring fitted?

it always seemed sensible to design with two but the equivalent Husky 254 only has one

Well the op is running one with no rings by the sound of it
