Anyone who wants to go and fell trees of a diameter over 200mm (8") or wants to operate a chainsaw from a rope and harness will be required to take an nptc assessment. How you prepare for the assessments is up to you! It makes sense to use a lantra registed instructor as they now how to best prepare a candidate for assessment.

Required by who and under what circumstances?

 

A very sweeping statement that requires some clarification imo.

As far as I understand the matter it shouldn't make a difference now as Lantra are an umbrella organisation that licence/grant NPTC the permission to do the instruction and testing of trainees. They are all part of the same thing.

 

correct me if i'm wrong.
