NPTC or Lantra?

i made the mistake of getting the lantra first, now i want to get into climbing i need to take the nptc assessment too, should have just taken nptc in the first place.

lantras only valid for 3 years?i believe......my groundy did lantra ........his choice,but he wil be back in oz next year

matty, the lantra is valid for 5 years.

If you are intending to take up tree work as your full time profession, and if you want to climb, then nptc is best.

If you are an occasional user, then lantra is fine.

Lantra tickets do expire, but then you should undertake refresher training anyway.

Npct have a wider range of units, including the climbing skills, and if you want to do those you will need the basic nptc tickets, as they wont accept lantra tickets as prerequisites.

Anyone else read the article in FMJ about the proposed changes to saw tickets, in particular to the thoughts of a Provisional Chainsaw Licence, prior to receiving a full licence?
