Do they exist?!  Nearly all internet/ebay searches take you north west for cages to be had in a more sensible way than '3 available for £60ea'!

My excellent cheap source near Dartford - £12.50 per cage or £10 for a dented one - has gone under it seems; a shame.

I only need 4 to 6 for now but not urgently; I'm off to Scotland on Thursday!

Helpful suggestions welcomed.

Cheers,

Jon

That would be true if IBCs were their main business but the IBCs were a by-product from the activities of a plastics company.

If you're going to Scotland take a roof rack and buy some in the North West on the way past, should be ok with 4 tied on top as it's over the bridge on the way south rather than having to fit through Dartford tunnel.

I'm heading north via Manchester to drop off timber to a forum member, then Newcastle for the night.  I'd moaned at the wife earlier how the country's IBC cages seemed to be in Greater Manchester and West Yorks except for a few in Brizzle and Wales; she looked at me with a stern face and said 'you're not taking your trailer (8x5 tipper) to Manchester are you?  Mick and Helen (in Newcastle) haven't got room to keep it for you while you're in Scotland'!!!

Thanks. The missus had a look at Marketplace on my behalf; don't think they were there.  Hardly surprising if they were going free!

Cheers.

And I've just looked up where Malton is!

B and g stopped trading for retirement back in January this year. I had 80 off them last year some were a bit rusty but cheap. I had a lorry load back in March @ £15 cage + transport got a deal on them as promised all metal pallets and got a few wooden pallets.

if you need a few there is a chap in Bristol. Where abouts are you?

Yeah I guessed they'd gone under.  I turned up the other day for the second time in a month to find no-one there but the site much tidier with some bulldozing having gone on behind the buildings.

I'm in Caterham.

So; my suspicion that IBC cages aren't readily available in the south east seems to be fulfilled.  Maybe I'll cruise some light industrial estates ? and ask around there.

Thanks to those who PM'd me offers; appreciate the trouble and it looks likely that one of you may be able to help.  You're not in the south east but you pass this way sometimes so that's hopeful.

I'll keep looking locally.
