DVLA and lockdown

I'm away tomorrow and my van is playing up again so I tried to hire a car, the sticking point is my driving licence went out of date in April, I knew this so I sent off for a new licence in March, I still haven't received it. None of the hire companies will touch me. I've ended up buying a little motor off a mate which I will sell when I get back. I know lockdown threw everything out of shape, but you'd think the DVLA would have something in place. I got a check code from them, which shows my licence as not processed, that's useful!

There’s some licences you can renew on line at DVLA. Mine ran out in March and I renewed it on line.

Me old man had to renew his picture on his license.
They told him he hadn't sent a new picture, which he had. He sent in another new picture and three months later they sent a new one, valid for the next decade or so, with the picture from his old license on.
DVLA and the Rev are just cranking back into action again, now that people are heading back to work.
My ex bitter half is an accountant and she's just now getting responses to things from months ago.

Steer well clear of Devon & Cornwall constabulary then or you’ll forever be getting pulled for drink, drugs and curb crawling markers.....
