So the furlough payments are going to continue till October even at a reduced rate and would you believe it that many people are supposedly refusing to go back to work  even though they are quite able too..this is a perfect time and circumstances for those who are out and out lazy bastards who take any opportunity to not go to work and have as many days of as possible...I know a few like that and i’am guessing some of you guys on here know at least one person who will be loving this and dragging it out till the last.

I think they will still get the 80% up to £2500, but their employer will somehow be asked to pay up to 50% of this? I seriously think those on Furlough should be offered 40% of their wage and we'd soon see them desperate to return to work.

Yep there definitely needs to be some incentive and not just to keep throwing money at the situation,i’am sure there are many genuine people who for no fault of there own cannot get back into work and have already lost there jobs but like I said this is a Taylor made situation for those chancers who will want to stay at home and get paid for doing jack shit...I guess on thr up side if they don’t go back there will be plenty who would be in line to take there place.

Cold Turkey! Its the only way. Give them enough money to pay the Bills and buy Tesco Basic food and they'll soon feel its safe to come outta their homes. :D

It is the same here.

€1500 handed out to self employed Brits here is actually more than many would have actually taken as a net wage.

Lets face it, when you are stuck at home, not spending fuel money, not stopping at the garage every morning, not eating out a couple times a week, most people are going to be better off even with the 80%. Its a recipe for disaster
