Medical advice??

An unusual one this but does no harm to ask here, since we all get bitten occasionally. The other half was at in the sun in the garden a day or so back, something (she's not sure what) bit her foot and as well as the usual bump and some swelling her foot looks like it's been bruised, its black? No more bite indication, just a half black foot. I would add an image but the phone won't connect to the laptop again. Any ideas what this is?

Don’t know - but I had a couple of occasions in the last two or three years where some bug of another fancied dining off me. Mozzies whilst on holiday in Italy and then some kind of mites / ants / spiders when I relocated an old concrete coal bunker and had the panels against bare skin during doing so.

In both events I ended up at the quack, as the bites had circular spreading bruising from them. The doctor said on both occasions it was probably a bacterial infection and gave me antibiotics, which cleared it up.

In the interim there was a good spray which I got from Boots which helped soothe the itching a bit - it’s called magicool plus.

Spider probably.
I got bitten in Spain last year.  I barely felt the bite, it acted like a mozzie nibble and then swelled up a fair bit.
I ended up with what looked like an ulcer on my ankle. It took three months to heal.
Give the quacks a ring, it might be prudent to get it cleaned and to possibly some chemicals to assist healing.
