Large felling saw

Looking to buy a large felling saw. proberbly looking at an 066 anybody got any thoughts?

I have a 660 and its had a fair few probs, chain adjuster wouldnt tighten properly from new and the oil pump never put enough oil on the bar for more than 25" even when fully opened. I am a fan of the 395XP but power wise there isnt many trees in this country that either saw couldnt manage with some double cutting and a 36"bar

im a stihl man all the way but i have to agree with husqvarna king our 660 seems to have oil problems, but it does have an amazing power to weight ratio

One thing i will praise the 660 over the 395 is the chainbreak being a bit stronger as its mounted both sides.. The 660 break would be more robust if you were climbing with it regularly.

MS660 is a brilliant saw. i run a 30"bar most of the time no probs, never had a problem with it, tbh wouldnt consider a different saw, light enough to use in the tree for long stints, plenty of power faultless. only thing i would like is new style fuel/oil caps but thats only for looks!

bought a 660 36in bar last summer and love it dosent get used to much though more of a luxury saw tryed a 880 but didnt like the weight of the beast plus check out the chain config if your running other stihls.

i can happily throw a 18 in bar and chain from another saw on it if i like

Ive had a 66 for 5 years and run a 36" bar and i have had no problems (touch wood), i sometimes put a 25" bar on it and the power is awesome.

my little 441 is dressed with a 18in bar and that is also awesome

Had a 066 for about 8-10 years running a 36" bar, faultless, well on/off switch broke once.

Aye the 66 is a cracking saw, between 25 and 36 inch bar its very versatile too
