wicked thanks steve , did you fit a winch bumper to yours then

Have a look at the link i posted- it shows the front of a ranger with a winch fitted. It doesnt appear to be the same set up as a landy, which takes a winch bumper, more that the winch sits in a cradle bolted to the 2 chassis rails, and a hole gets cut into the existing plastic bumper to allow the tray and winch to stick out.:001_smile:

iv been looking to get one for my ranger too,but the prices are ridiculous..so im going to have a go at putting one together myself, you could try getting matey with a steel fabricator..i reckon theyd do it for half the price of ARB etc..

I made mine out of plate, but i do a lot of fabrication work so it was fairly straight forward. I did download the plans - let me have your emai land i'll send them if you want? One important thing to bear in mind I found out when reasearching ideas for mine - it is illegal to fit a bull bar to a vehicle '56 plate or later. Be careful what your winch bumper looks like - if its anything more than just a mounting plate that sticks out, like the pics on this thread, your insurance company will not want to know about it. I'm only repeating what NFU told me but i did double check it online. Just useful to know about. Whether you stick to it is another matter :)
