Cheers Spud, The problem is I cannot find a pickup pipe in the oil chamber? On my 044 there is the rubber tube and strainer. On here - nothing. I will see if I can a schematic to give me a clue?

I stripped down the bar oil pump assembly down on my old 350 for the first time today and noticed that unlike my other saws this one does not appear to have a bar oil filter? From what I can see there is a port through the pump body going to the bottom of the oil chamber from the pump head and that is it. Am I right?

Well it is now running. Reliably. Maybe. The spare saw green flex impulse hose also didn't look good (cheers Spud) so I found some silicone hose around the same size and fitted that. Also installed the carb from the parts saw. The settings on the old carb were L-3 turns out/H - 1 turn out. Started and ran. Settings now L-2.5 H-1. Fingers crossed?

Saw re-assembled and run up last night - also checked and cleaned the oil pump. Was pretty bunged which is probably why it appeared to be 'over oiling'. Oil way was bunged so the lube was finding an easier and alternative route. Set the carb to 1 turn out on the LH. Fires on first kick with choke applied then knock the choke in for fast idle and it will fire easily but immediately red lines. Blip the throttle and of course the idle backs off and after some fine fettling of the carb it was idling nicely. After 20 mins of idling/blip the throttle etc I decided to refill the bar lube and fit the bar. Now it won't idle. I will get back to it tonight as I ran out of time and patience ?

I used the same size but salvaged from the low hours (but fkd) parts saw. Hose would not fit down the hole so I opened it up ~0.5mm. Fitted snug then.

Cheers Spud. Good to know I might be on the right lines? Drilled out the fuel line port in the top of the tank so the 'parts saw' fuel line which was good would fit through tight. Applied a coating of fibreglass gel as it went through and a bit on the outside. Hopefully that will work?

Well saw is now stripped. Delayed due to beer and BBQ. Two problems found. 1. Small what looks like silicone ~8mm dia. connection to lower crankcase from carb back plate was split. Swapped with a good one from the parts saw. 2. Fuel hose split at the filter. May have happened as I was removing it for checking but if it did it was brittle anyway. How to change it though as the tank/handle assy looks to be welded together after the hose is fitted through via the hole by the vent filter? Open up the hole a bit to suit a new hose then seal?

Cheers adw, Thanks for the suggestions. Next job carb off (easy) and tank out then (sus it as I go) Apparently he bought it 18-20 years ago for general firewood work. But yes a cheaper end of the range saw but worth a go as it was FOC?

A friend gave me a box of bits recently namely one 141 and another one for spares use (someone had run it without 2 stroke - shot bore). I thought this would be a good side project. He didn't use the good one any more and mentioned it was 'troublesome' and the starter cord had bust. The 'better' saw of the two has a good clean bore and reasonable compression (on my finger) so I thought it was worth a go. Even had a new rim drive fitted. In the end it would make a good light saw for brush and clean up with a 13" bar? Swapped over the starter cord assy from the duff saw and one missing cover screw that I found to be missing. Fitted a new plug, cleaned the air filter, set the carb to default (~1 turn out for each) and filled it up. Started first time. So fitted a new spare 13" bar and chain ready to give it a more thorough test. Two problems were then encountered - 1. Bar lube initially works and then slows. Fault found to be vac forming in the oil tank. Appears to be a common problem with this model after looking on the 'net'. Bored a small vent hole at the top of the tank and it is now oiling well - actually too well - but there is no adjustment. 2. The saw runs well (initially) but then starts to idle lumpy after around 30 minutes - then cuts out. Tried adjusting the carb settings to no avail. Let the saw cool for an hour and the saw runs fine again...until around 30 minutes passes...again. Any suggestions bar the bin!?

At least 5 of her classmates left last year and moved to a local English medium school. But I have to agree initially the std of education was good, if not better than I have previously experienced in schools of this level of education. Yes, it is something we are considering. As I am currently WFH her writing and reading ability (or lack of) in English is more pronounced. A new tack is My Little Pony books before bed. A few pages every night. Me not her This evening she is having a go at archery then taking a walk with me and the JRT's to go flower spotting.

This was our thinking too but teaching Welsh above and beyond English I don't believe is beneficial in the long term. English suffers and I have seen too many cases especially when they move into university level education, which will be predominantly in English. As I may have mentioned before we will be moving our daughter from Welsh to English stream when she enters secondary education.

Reminds me I ought to strip and check mine. Tried oil adjustment fully right (in) and left (out) and either way the oil flow is not good. Bottom of the links at the top of the bar are wet though but adjustment doesn't seem to make much difference?

Totally agree Squaredy. Neither myself or the other half speak Welsh (well she can as nec for dealing some elderly NHS patients) so English is the std in our house. We made the decision early on that she will be coming out of Welsh stream when she transfers to senior school. Local ed do not approve and will no doubt do all they can to hinder us but hey ho. My daughter has spoken Welsh since 3 years old so has reached a good level of fluency. Her spoken English is, of course, spot on but her reading and writing ability is poor compared to myself at that age. I checked after your previous post and she also doesn't know the months of the year in English so that was yesterdays sideline task. Both my partner and I are not furlowed, so still working full time and juggling child 'entertainment'. Minecraft it is then! I still remember caligraphy/handwriting lessons used an ink pen and a pot of ink on every table around the age of 9-10 (1977?). We have also just found out after repeated statements via email that my daughter does actually have homework to do while in lockdown. Her teacher had claimed it was being issued but never told anyone exactly 'where'. We had been checking the Hwb (Welsh thing) daily and nothing was appearing in the 'Homework' folder. Turns out they have been putting it in 'Attached files'. Numbnuts!

We are lucky currently to have a large open fronted barn with a good path for the wind to drive off the moisture. Store located well to the back out of the rain but dries quick once split. Support frames are made from cut down pallets until I can get some IBC frames at some point. At our previous house we had limited space but I knocked up a small store just for the lounge stove from cheap 'garden grade' pressure treated timber (cost around £50). Vented at the sides/base and 3" vent path into the rear. Traped an old camo net across the front as well to give some wet weather protection and it all worked well.

The good old days before the paranoia kicked in? 'Crowscarers' let off in the playground and sod chlor/sugar based pipebombs at the weekend in the wood Oh, and selling air guns at school.

My daughter is in Welsh medium stream (age 8) in a small Carmarthenshire village school of around 50 pupils and in some subjects I think she is excelling but others...not so much. Writing is pretty abysmal and I guess that comes from the general attitude 'why do you need to wite anything?' . I don't agree. Tables and Welsh language she is pretty much in the top 2-3 in her class but English has only been introduced to her in Sept '19 but she is doing well but I would estimate 1 year behind me at the same age. Months of the year - she doesn't know (home schooling job for today!). Good on Minecraft and Roblox though
