You could try just putting another turn on the spring ?

Measure the compression, one pull should be circa 75psi and then around 170psi after 6 pulls. If it is considerably lower, there is wear. The first pull can be quite indicative of issues. 346XPs often feel low on the handle!

If low, roughen the bore lightly with a hone and fit a new Meteor piston, it will last many more years.

What type of hone do you use spud? Have you tried the ball hones?

Not tried the ball ones as they are a bit pricy but use a 2 or 3 stone small bore ones. They do the job as long as you don't go mad. Get rid of any transfer first and then hone it.

The flex hones ( ball hones ) are excellent tools, the bores come up like new, and any aluminum transfer is taken away, it also leaks a nice cross hatch in the cylinder, you need to invest Steve, only issue is you need quite a few different diameters.

Got new bearing/rim sprocket/Hub on saw on 325 running 058 chain bars quite old OE husky just looking at new  bars have options also for 050 chains/bars guess if get chain and bar can change to that? as both 325.

Any advantages or minuses?? pros and cons?

You just need the bar and chain if you've already got a .325 setup.

I have a 346 with a .50 speedcut bar and sp33g chain and I think its impressively quick. The cut is narrower so chain speed stays high, easier sharpening as there is less metal. I guess they do wear quicker as there is less metal to take the wear. The sp33g is semi chisel, so you may prefer chisel.

yeah i did wonder about wear! Chain on it is quite aggressive rakers are filed a bit so chews at a good rate

So would you say 058 or 050 is better/advantages? i read 050 stretches quicker than 058 but guess could go with tad longer bar even as less Kerf to pull through cut but cutters wear bit quicker?

050 more prone to issues from sideways pressures?
