The basics are spark, fuel and compression. Spark - earth it on top of the cylinder and pull over the saw hard, it should be a nice fat spark.

After trying to start it, the plug should be damp - if it isn't, it will most likely be the carb.

Compression - can you feel good compression on the starter handle?

It is possible that you didn't set the metering arm on the new carb kit and it now isn't letting in fuel (dry plug) or holding the needle valve open and flooding the engine (wet plug).

It is most likely a fuel problem if it ran fine on the last outing and went away running.

All petrol engines suck air - it is the way they work!

not sure how to set the metering arm as I followed a video on YouTube to fit the kit the plug seems wet so I'll have a look at that first

Cheers for the response

Depending on what you did to tune it. Factory settings are about 1 and 1/4 turns out from fully in on the h and l screw. This get the saw running if its what you did to it thats stopped it! Good luck

You could have flooded it....plug out, turn upside down and pull it over fast a few times, if fuel runs out, it is flooded. Let it dry, heat the plug, pop it back in, hold the throttle wide open and pull it over hard, no decomp and see if it pops.

Change fuel as mentioned and check fuel filter in the petrol tank. As you said not been used for a while. You can always drop a bit of fuel into the bore which normally fires it up

Ill change the fuel ishould of done that strieght away dam.

Tried fuel in pot no luck as I think its flooding so I'll change fuel and needle in carb .sthil not sure about fuel pipes as of the drawing noise not sure if it's drawing air
