Binoculars,Who Uses them for tree work?

As the title says does anyone else carry binoculars in there kit?

Since I have been climbing I have always carried a small pair of binoculars with me...have 3 pairs in various kit and rope bags...if anyone doesn’t have a pair you should get some as they are a great addition to your climbing kit,helps look for hazard branches and good anchor points etc and or nest,squirrel drays etc.you can spend quite a bit on some of these smaller ones but there are always some on the car boots and flebay for not bad money and as with anything of good value and quality the heavier the better.

I use a chainsaw for watching horse racing . Does that count ? ?

I do.  Excellent tool for looking at trees.

 

Not so sure about taking a saw to the races...…..

When I was on the trowel I used them all the time for inspecting chimneys, rooves etc. Invaluable.

As a shooting man there's always a pair of Steiners in the truck. Can end up spending half the day watching birds though..

I think the ad agency needs to be fired!  Be just as well using a pair of milk bottles if all you want is a couple of yards away!  You could almost TOUCH it let alone tactical survey 🤪
