Whilst clearing a 5m wide strip around the edge of a woodland to allow for fencing works I found this beauty  ( Ash , approx 750 mm DBH and 20 metres tall very unbalanced , not actually touching the wall which belongs to neighbour , no access for any big machines ...eg MEWP  either side , it is quite astonishing to me that it has split this far and not gone completely !!!!!  DSCF1814.thumb.JPG.0d9e41cf5487be7a1a22e0d1b1082fc4.JPG

Looks like that ash would probably go with a little persuasion from winching or pulling with rope at distance from the other side and if that didn’t work you could make gradual cuts with a long pole saw (HT133) until it goes .pile of straw bales packed up above the height of the wall should prevent  any possible damage .

Hay bales...
Good idea emoji106.png

no ...the wall is at least 10 foot tall and would take an awful lot of bales !!  I will be guying it then climbing it ....if it stays up over the weekend  ?
