I remember from my childhood that my uncle had a 20" one. Seemed massive to me at the time. I'm just happy to have my 14" one for now. It's just the right size for the missus to use too.
Wouldn't mind a 30 inch one for real big stuff but I wouldn't have the power to run it.

There was a Dodd and Wadkin planer thicknesser and spindle moulder combination machine on flebay about 10 months ago, situated in Burnly and if i remember right planer was 20" wide, add said in good working order and used daily up to 3 months ago, buyer to remove as it is on the 3rd floor of a old mill, either dismantle and take down staircase or could be craned through double doors on 3rd floor, it made £182 which would of been just above scrap price,

You'd have to pay someone a grand to remove it. :D
