End of my bar started smoking and saw power waned. Had a look and the pictured insert(?) was pushed out to one side. I tapped it back in and tried started the saw. As soon as the chain brake was off and I revved a little it was smoking and sparking. ☹ Help. As Manuel says, 'I know nothing'.

Dry wood, long solid nosed bar, lack of lubrication. I would imagine the insert popped out through heat expansion.

Is the oil pump turned fully up?

It's a duromatic bar.
If it's smoking, it's either too tightly tensioned, oiler not turned up, or it's blunt and you're forcing it.
And that insert bit at the end will fall out.
It's irrelevant.
