Got a call from an old workmate this morning to wish me a happy new year, he must be mid Seventies, but as mad as a balloon. A Gentleman, not many of them left now.

Yes its a good time of year to catch up with people you loose touch with, beats social media "friend" requests.........¬¬

Does it? What if those friend requests are from people you’ve lost touch with?

Social media just seems cold compared to a phone call or chat over a pint is all.

It’s not always possible or even desirable to speak over the phone or go out for a drink with old acquaintances, ex girlfriends or workmates or similar, I wouldn’t want to talk to them per se, but a message chat where you can avoid touchy stuff because you have time to give a measured response can put a smile on your face and keep lines of communication open.

Strangely enough I've never 'lost touch' with anybody that that I desired to keep in touch with. :D
