yep! The forward roller only goes when i push and hold in the forward button and so forward roller stops when i let go. Everythin else is working as should at the mo but there were lots of weird happening in the day with the rollers such as stuck on forward and none of the stop buttons working for a small time! pretty dangerous so had to stop there!

I would look at replacing the relays now. They sound like the problem and if faulty also blowing the fuse. It's quite a puzzler this one!

Could the fuse getting blown and the forward rollers needing to be held in to work be due to the stress control unit malfunctioning? How much is one of these?

 

Some more info: When i bypass the stress control unit by plugging together the brown and black wires i still get no joy with the forward roller. There is also no red light on by the stress control unit which there used to be but is no more.

Ah! Does sound like the stress control has stopped working. Therefore it's not sending a signal to the relay for the forward rollers, as it thinks the revs are too low. Someone may correct me. I believe they are a few hundred pounds

Above the axle and below the roller box area there is normally a large block connector, you need to unplug it if removing the hopper. We have had problems in there with water and corrosion. Have had machines in before where that connector has been chopped out and new connections made up.
