Viking Chain

The wire is 1.2mm sterling silver. Started at 08:00 this morning and after a long lunch I had them both finished and in the tumbler.

After an hour in the tumbler the chain takes on an amazing shine and all the rough edges are smoothed off. Will leave in over night and see how they come out.

In the " tumbler "  ( we used to use a barrel or vibrabowles ) do you use soap stone pyramids Andy ?

Yeh it was a long day. But was also fun, been a  few years since I made my last one so was a bit of a puzzle as to how I used to do it. Ive got the other lads hooked and they've made some nice pieces for their better halves. I had to pay for the silver on this rig (booo!) but normally its free in the Hobby Clubs. There is a Knife Club too where people can buy, or make a blade and there is blanks of different kinds of wood for making the handle and leather etc for the sheath.
