What are the real on costs?

Here in France, there are a few online simulators to help calculate employee costs as far as taxation goes.

There are variables but as a rule, an employee costs you almost 100% again in social charges and payslip accounting then whatever tooling, clothing or transport you supply.

Profit margin after all this.

I know some talk of a 5% net profit but that is terribly low and gives little chance for growth.

My own taxation as self employed is eyewatering enough at around 50% in every net euro then a personal income tax levied on top.

Some unlucky buggers I know pay a 64% rate as a result.

you forgot to add pension, payroll costs, employers liability insurance, ppe, holidays, lost time to weather/breakdowns travel time to the jobs
