Ifor trailer for small excavator

The GH is all welded construction, and is arguably a stronger/better trailer.

I bought a Brian James Diggerplant to move 2 tonne chippers (it is a 3.5 tonne trailer, so running well within capacity) and it keeps cracking across the bed (which 4 Ifor GH 2.7 tonne trailers have never done carrying the same weight). The Brian James aren’t as strong as the Ifor trailers in my experience, and you’ll be running at capacity with that digger.

Get the 185 heavy duty tyres too (they have a type of all-terrain tread pattern) - they are much much harder wearing than the low profile tyres fitted to a lot of plant trailers.

We have a GX, recently had a GD until we sold it with a SafeTrak 19-28 as a little package to a contractor. The groundworker next door here has a GH which I think is more suited to diggers and the like. He has the beavertail which makes tracked equipment nicer to load / unload on the breakover angle.

The sides on a GH would take accidental knocks by the bucket better.

Dedicated digger trailers are a bit of a one trick pony, a tiltbed or beavertail plant trailer is far more use and a lot easier to strap down machines on. Just saying.

Yeah, you do make a good point. I used my 10x6 flatbed ifor for years to move my 3 tonner around- it actually has a higher payload than the plant trailer, and then stick sides back on and go and get a load o materials etc- although the plant trailer is very convenient for quickly unloading a machine particularly if doing on a road whilst holding up traffic etc!
