A friend of mine is looking into buying a Vermeer BC 1000, 2000/2001 with a thousend hours on the clock...

 

Opinions? Good buy?

 

Anyone owns/owned one?

We use one at work. Had it about 3 and half years from new. It gets used all day everyday and we have had know real probs with it at all. Makes very light work of big stuff. recommended although i do not know about parts cost and the mechanics of it etc. Will look tomorrow and see how many hours its done now.

Vermeer= overengineered, very reliable and easy to get spares for. B-trac engineering are the UK agents, and i have yet to find a more helpful and knowledgeable company. Go for it. Excellent machines, cant praise them enough.

Have to agree with above, We ran two smaller machines and they were abused to within an inch of their lives.

 

Typically Vermeer policy is: if 5mm steel will do the job they'll use 10mm.
