Really it depends on what scale you want, ideally OS Mastermap, however the price would be in the thousands.

An alternative is 1:10,000 Raster in a tiff format, you wont be able to edit it but will bring it into the hundreds.

Buying wise we have accounts with:

Ordnance Survey - maps and geographical data of Great Britain

Promap - Ordnance Survey maps, aerial photos and reports

http://www.centermaps.co.uk

mapsuk.co.uk

They are all about the same price, except if you buy large areas direct from OS you can get good rates.

Someone said £25 earlier, this will get you roughly one house, maps are extorianate, can you not get them from whoever you are working for, if its an LA or gvt body they will have a licence which will cover your use.

If you want PM your details and i can have a chat with you.

you can get a 1:10,000 off MAGIC and do a screen capture and just edit in what you want with paint etc, not very professional looking unless your careful with it,

if its for L/A work, ask them for a print out of the mastermap layer, other than that I agree with Arborist Sites comments

apply to the Utilities companies for maps of services... they send them free....

Just say your planning felling and grinding works in the areas you want maps for.....

You wont find anything policed for coyright like mapping, if you do go down the above mentioned routes be extremely careful.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ordnance Survey © Crown copyright 2009 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also remember all the threads on arbtalk about cowboys cutting corners, surely this would be the same. :sneaky2:
