Just come back to this thread again.... Pretty interesting but....

..... looks like I'm firmly in the minority!!

Got me thinking about the whole pricing system and the way I do things which is not necessarily a bad thing.

rubbish, professionals should be adaptable to a situation, especially where they are going to lose money on a job

How come you'll stick to the price when you've gone over-time on the job, but take money off if you complete the job under-time? be brave skyhuck, ask for more money if you need it, most people will understand especially if they found you through word of mouth, they already know your trustworthy right, why would you try to rip them off?

Thats all very admirable 'man of principle' BS but only a complete fool would soldier on to break even or make a loss, have the confidence to tell the customer you've made a mistake with time or there were unforseen circumstances that have arisen during the job

In all the years I've been doing treework, I've never had to ask for extra money to finish a job, but I wouldn't rule it out, thats just being stupid.

Is it just me or does anyone else hear the sound of frantic "back pedaling"

Also Tim how do you know people don't mind being asked for more money, if you have NEVER done it???????????????????:confused1::sneaky2:
