Afternoon all, I feel like there's something missing off the end of my fuel line, some kind of breather valve perhaps. I purchased this saw second hand, it runs but I haven't cut anything with it yet. I'm familiar with saws up to a point but not a small engine mech,

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

It’s a tank vent , pretty sure it sits just like that! Mine had the later black style pepper pot vent so could be wrong.

Yes tank vent, should it have a small grub type screw in the end ? has a one way breather so negating the screw ?

Yup, a coarse grub screw pushes in to the end and the tube is then fed through the hole in the plastic wall just behind it in your pic.

See the hole in the orange plastic ? the pipe tucks into it. The Tank vent itself is as per this IPL picture.....

Outstanding, thanks. Any point in putting a dab of Tech 7 on the end of the line to keep it from popping out?

Not IMO...it should sit back in the groove you can see round the tube.
