I had asked about the wrap around handle, fixing screws and a couple of other things and they say that they can't supply and distance them self from Dolmar as though they are an alien competitor business... I did ask if they would special order them in.... and no they can't because they don't recognise Dolmar part orders and don't have access to the Dolmar Schematics....

But thanks to Shavey I will be able to get the parts...

Ahh, I thought you were needing a part, sorry didn't realise you were after the wrap around.

@shavey definitely is the man ?

I love the saws but I don't really get the whole Makita-Dolmar relationship. Who owns who, if indeed one own the other... why is Dolmar happy to allow Makita to rule UK where they'd possibly sell better themselves in orange (more pro guys would take them seriously)... why have I seen some Makitas now in orange?...

Not questions aimed at you, just some of the things I find strange and wonder about... glad you are sorted out ?

Makita took over Dolmar in 1991, if that's any help to you. http://www.dolmarpowerproducts.com/company/history/

Already told them that ..... The Customer services person seemed surprised... Strange old world....

It is a shame that makita don't promote Dolmar or do The Makita Versions of their Chainsaws in Orange as it is a damm good saw and they would sell far more of them. I think they are in a state of denial about selling the Blue Makita kit instead of making it Orange to Grounds Maintenance and Arborist professionals....

Makita have already started to go orange on their saws stateside, as well as some of their electrical products, too.

They were reluctant to go away from blue because that's their mark for so long. But they seem to be coming around to the fact a dark blue chainsaw is easily lost in the woods.
