Genius or insanity? I am thinking that the head will be out of balance and it’s only a matter of time before one of the links lets go, leading to a fast-flying chunk of chain. Also, as put together, the chain appears to be cutting on one side of the head using the bar guides?? I guess it is speed rather than sharpness which matters?

You could do the same with a bog chain .  The cutters don't do anything . One side the cutters hit first the other side the drivers hit first .

Seen those “home mades” go wrong, luckily with no serious injury!!! Nylon spools were invented for a reason. I’ve a strimmer with a saw blade shat itself too! One half of the blade went full bore in to the stem of a weeping willow, couldnt get it out, the other half was never found!!! [emoji33][emoji37]

its like a scary version of those strimmer heads briogo made, the chain link ones.

loved them, cleared tons of areas and as long as some respect paid to people/distance and always wearing saw boots to at least slow down bits were amazing.
