When I was an apprentice we were shown a safety film which showed, amongst other things, the result of combining a fast descent and a wedding ring.

The chap reached the ground with a skinless finger having left a boneless finger and said wedding ring aloft.

Not just necklaces but the laces in hoodies just love fast spinny-roundy things; the results of their first date can be f'kin awsome. Once they're in the wearer's face soon follows.

You remember that branch the fell and hit the side of your head and bounced off your shoulder because it had nothing to get caught in and just left you with some bruising?

Lets see that again but this time... with an ear-ring!!!

Earrings shouldn’t matter, covered by defenders, rings, bracelets got to be off, necklaces aren’t a issue if under clothing, if it can come out of clothing it needs to be off though.

He was lucky compared with the chap who hauled some of our timber, jumped off the loader and left his ring and finger  on the controls.
