do you have a larger false acacia in your garden ?

if so there likely sprouting from the root system of that tree  !

you wouldn't normally see these as you would be cutting them off when you cut the grass  as your not cutting they continue to grow

There’s a robinia around somewhere, possibly recently cut down.

 

The form on that tree is unlike most GWs I’ve seen.

I have exactly the same in my garden. The interesting thing to me is the tree was only about 3m tall and in poor condition. It was felled last year, the suckers are 10-15 m from the tree and vigorous as anything..
