Hi guys

Im looking for a bit of advise regarding Chainsaw models: My Stihl MS 261 has packed in (crank shaft has gone).

And I'm looking for a suitable and similar spec replacement. I have been recommended 2 different brands: An ECHO CS4510- 15" and a Husqvarna 555 2018 model. I'm also looking to get a quote for a Stihl MS 261 and MS 362. I would love opinions on these models or if you would recommend any others?

I work in a forest near Brecon felling all sizes of trees for firewood and occasional pole length for Pontrilas sawmills. My budget is around £500.00

Any info would be much appreciated

You will never get better advice on here than this.

Get a husky 346xp,send it too spud for an overhaul and port.

It will then be the best saw you will EVER....... own.

Your welcome

Sent our 12 year old 346xp to SPUD 2 years ago for an overhaul and port. New Meteor barrel and Husky piston & rings.

It is now arguably the best saw we will EVER....... own.

Yesterday about 1/2pm all three huskys failed to start.
The other guys said it's normal in the heat. [emoji23]
Today took a 572 and a 346 out. The 572 stopped oiling about 2 minutes into felling a 18" acer.
Had to log up with the 346.
Which took a while but it's quite a good saw.
Took the 572 back to workshop, started oiling.

So,
We can't agree on which new saw.
But I think we'd all agree whatever you get, send it to spudulike.
