motivation

Never get complacent, after 11 years of self employment i never know if the phone will ring tomorrow Liam, i have no work on just now, i very rarely know from day to day if i do, i want the easy life now so thats the risk i take. My motivation used to be kit, cars and toys. Now its my family. Sometimes i struggle to motivate myself at work because i am shoving twigs into a 4 inch chipper compared to a lot of fancy kit that drew attention and boosted my ego, but now when i leave a job, i change in the van, put on my trainers and come home to 2 wee guys shouting and smiling because daddys home, and the smell of a cooked dinner and an awesome wife aswell:thumbup:

Family.

It was MY decision to get married and MY decision to have children, so its MY responsibility to provide for them.

I think pride comes into it to, we have a good standard of life and if that standard fell I would fell a great sense of personal failure.

I once had a neighbour who was s/e, as a window fitter. He had family (5kids) yet had no motivation to go to work, and would think of every excuse not to go. He had a contract for a local farm to install 56 houses with double glazing, fascias etc and he blew it big time, so they gave the contract to someone else. He went bankrupt, took 3weeks holiday in the States, came back bought a new car and a new van for work, and took on a paper round. Who needs motivation when bankruptcy will help you along the way?:001_rolleyes:
