My friend is looking to get a brush cutter for lots of work on mainly grass. I have a Stihl  FS460 which is great but it gets used on srub clearence  more than long grass. I suspect a slightly smaller machine might suit him better but with a professional build quality. What would people recommend?

Thanks in advance

Husky man me . 545RX   but have also 555RX  The 545 is nicer to use as its lighter . The 555 has masses of torque though . Runs 4mm square line with an 18inch swipe no bother .

If its long grass stick with the 460 and just put a spool head on one

Long grass saps the power unbelievably even a 410 feels gutless strimming large areas of long grass

545RX or RXT would be my vote also so. I am running  9 of the new autotune 545RXTs. Best brushcutter on the market.

I've just looked and my 555 is an RXT . never realised !

Jet fit head whatever you get. We run 3 and they've never given trouble. Although the bottom cap has never fallen off which I was told would happen straight away.
