So, my very enterprising nephew (22) is doing a bit of grounds maintenance, hedges, small trees and the like in the North Yorkshire area.

We’ve been chatting and he is keen to learn a bit so he’s not just a bloke with a ladder and a saw.

Naturally I want to encourage him, I’m trying to steer him towards a short but worthwhile course along the lines of the 10 weeker I did at Merrist Wood back in ‘95.

It’s too far for him to come ‘daan sarf’ for that long.

I very much do want him to get real climbing tuition, as I did at MW. Especially at the money he’s likely to have to fork out.

So suggestions and recommendations please.

For chainsaw training I recommend Askham Bryan as I did mine there.

Edit: If I remember correctly it's Sarah Wickham you need to speak to (apologies for any badly spelt names). Unfortunately I believe I've lost her email address since changing my email.
