A while ago i saw an Alstor for sale, with a small Farmi chipper powered off the astor's hydraulics. can't remember the model. I think, it was mounted on a very simple hook loader frame which used the crane rather than a hydraulic hook to drag the frame with chipper up, rather than lifting the entire weight of the chipper.

 

I guess with the abundance of 2nd hand road tow chippers in the uk it'd be cheaper and easier to get an old one, mount it on a frame with wind down legs so you could drive under to load it rather than lift.

The GreenMech 6inch unit to be driven hydraulically is available only through Avant dealers. It works best on the bigger units.

Something like a greenmech 1928 on a turntable mounted on frame that you could role on and off would make it very handy being able to work both sides
