Stihl battery kombi unit

Hi everyone, quick question.

 

I currently have a Stihl petrol kombi unit with multiple attachments, i have just seen there is a stihl battery kombi unit, would my attachments for my petrol unit fit the battery unit???

They are interchangeable with the new model that has either come out or is coming out.  Not 100% sure about the older model.  Perhaps Carmen @STIHL GB can confirm please

And sorry.....i don't think there was an older model either, this is a brand new addition.

Thanks Steve - you beat us to it. 

 

The KMA 130 came into stock this month and the first units have just shipped to our dealers. If you are interested in seeing it, best call them in advance as not all dealers will have them quite yet.   It performs well with all the petrol kombi attachments with the exception of the bent shaft grass trimmer which is a domestic attachment and the cordless kombi head is too powerful for it. 

 

Like the BGA 100 blower, FSA 130 grass trimmer and HSA 94 hedge trimmers, you can choose from 3 power settings with a flick of a switch on the handle. It doesn't have a battery slot so you run it on the STIHL AP batteries via a belt or backpack, or the STIHL AR backpack batteries. We hope you agree it's good to have a choice between cordless and petrol tools, and if you've already invested in the kombi attachments, it is relatively easy to add a cordless powerhead.

I love the idea of these & they’re a great idea, but it has totally put me off having to be connected via a wire to either my belt or a backpack battery.
Why on earth couldn’t they design it to hold the battery within the machine or at least have the option??

Hi Scott, thanks for the feedback. There's a few factors at play - weight, balance and ergonomics being some of the key ones. A battery slot could be a good feature to have and that may be addressed in the future. For now, taking the weight out the tool for ease of use was the priority.

How does that work then? according to the stihl website the kma130r is 3.2kg a a100 battery is 0.8kg so 4kg overall, compared to the km131r which is 4.4kg and that's the dry weight
