This isn't new technology to Stihl, its been in operation on their cut off saws for a while now, so in theory we can hopefully expect the niggles to have been sorted out already.

It does sound good and I’m getting the itch for a new saw reading about it. I have to say though that although the direct injection engine is tried and tested I’ll be waiting a year before I fork out my hard earned cash. The early 261 problems weren’t to do with the engine so much as I understand and Stihls track record of taking responsibility for faulty equipment is rubbish
