Kretz?

Just been asked about this, sister tree is away and half rung up. Suspect kretz. Canopy looks in good shape, but very exposed and weighted one way after sister tree has failed.

Agree! It is a def a seperate tree, rather than a large part of (not sure if pics show that)

Defo looks like kretz, if canopy is till in good nick maybe recommend a reduction?

  Kretz. I'd probably only consider a reduction in the absence of any targets and if the client wanted to retain as long as possible. Otherwise they'll be paying twice and blaming you.

It'll twat a nice wall if it goes and it's very unbalanced now anyways. Client wants it out, was just checking I had got the ID correct really.

Aye, spot on ID.  The fact that Kretzch is associated with the black cinder, bubble texture, can throw people when the newer, grey white growth is also knocking about.

 

Also, the nature of Kretzch, being a heartwood rotter, means that the tree may well show little in the way of dysfunction until it snaps.
