Watching Sport on telly?

I've never really got it. Watching some guys run round a track just seems a waste of time...

 

IMHO, the only sports worth watching are women's beach volleyball and the female gymnastics...

 

I can't help thinking we get so much sport on the telly as it's an excuse for media types to get a nice holiday somewhere warm.
